Meet the crew
Brass brewing is a Veteran owned and former law enforcement brewery

Woody and Kellee Briggs first crossed paths while serving in Ramadi, Iraq. Kellee is a West Point graduate who served as an Engineer, while Woody graduated from Ohio State University and served in Field Artillery. They are the proud parents of two boys, Cooper and Griffin. With a combined 26 years of dedication to the military, including stints in the Army and Colorado State Patrol, their unwavering camaraderie and mutual dreams would ultimately shape their future.
In 2018, after years of envisioning a new mission together, the Briggs decided it was time to make their dream of starting a brewery a reality. Their search culminated in the discovery of an existing brewery for sale in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs that would become Brass Brewing Company.
Today, Brass Brewing is more than just a brewery; it’s a testament to the Briggs’ commitment to the community and veterans. The brewery employs 7-10 part-time staff (many of which are military spouses), including a full-time Master Brewer who shares their military background. Giving back is also at the core of their business ethos. A portion of the brewery’s profits are dedicated to supporting veterans through organizations like the Mount Carmel Veterans Service Center. In gratitude for the service of military personnel, teachers, and first responders, Brass Brewing offers a 10% discount on all pints. They’ve also given a nod to their military and law enforcement roots by naming many of their brews after terms commonly used in those fields, such as “Blue Falcon” and “Sick Call Ranger.”
At Brass Brewing Co., the love of country and beer is celebrated in every pint, with a mission to give back as the heart and soul of our brewery.

Sean
After a freak tortilla press accident while leading a chinchilla safari ended his career as a plankton rancher, Sean found himself needing a new career. The adventurous yet intellectual endeavor of brewing called. Since graduating from the American Brewers Guild in 2012 he has apprenticed and worked at Dry Dock Brewing in Aurora, Fountain Square Brewing in Indianapolis and The Guardian Brewing Company in Muncie, Indiana. Yearning for a return to the care free, bohemian days of his post-military life, he has returned to Colorado Springs and landed at Brass Brewing under the fearless leadership of Woody and Kellee Briggs.

Elise
I moved to the Springs from Western New York in 2017 and started working at Brass in June of 2018. When I’m not slinging beers at Brass, I work full time in sales. I spend my free time exploring trails with my pups, enjoying live music, and competing in team sports. Would love to pour you a cold one. Go Bills!

Rachel
You can usually find me at Brass on the weekends. When I’m not pouring pints, you can find me in the mountains or studying for my nursing degree.

Anna
Army spouse for 14 years. Learned to love beer while living in Germany. Enjoys going to new places and knocking some back with new friends

Alfredo
I like long walks on the beach, great beer, and fried chicken. Come drink with me and I will offer you a deal - buy a beer and touch my mustache for free.

Trevor
Raised in the Sacramento area. I ran a non profit organization for 15 years. Moved to Colorado to try and figure out my next career path!

Jessica
The Air Force brought my family to Colorado Springs when I was 6 weeks old, so I consider myself a true native and I can't imagine calling anywhere else home! I have 3 kids with my husband Jackson and when I'm not pouring your favorite beer, you can find me sharing my love for learning with my 5th grade classroom at Rocky Mountain Classical Academy. In my free time (I say that losely 😅) I love snowboarding, hiking and traveling as often as I can!

Jenna
I am from Ohio but moved to Colorado in 2015 for school and decided I loved it too much to move back. During the day I am a Physical Therapist Assistant and at night I have the pleasure of pouring some great people great beer. When I am not working I enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, biking, (basically anything outside) and being with my dogs and husband. I cannot wait to meet you!

Reilly
I enjoy hiking, working out, and spending time with my dog Parker! I moved from West Michigan here to the Springs where I’m also a nurse when I’m not at Brass. My favorite beer is a nice, cold PBR or a corona with lime.

Jade
A Rutgers graduate originally from New Jersey, joined Brass in August 2018 as a beertender, becoming GM, and now serving as our remote social media manager. She appreciates Brass's commitment to hiring and supporting military spouses. Currently stationed in Miami, Jade and her husband, Ben, are both Mug Club members and will soon be PCSing to Salt Lake City. Jade’s favorite Brass beer is Irish Red and Blonde Stout. Fun fact: her cat, Louie, is one of only two feline visitors to Brass.

Kyle
Born and raised in Central Nebraska (Go Big Red!), I've spent about 5 years in Colorado Springs. I've worked in a variety of fundraising shops for the past 10 years from college athletics to international sport organizations, and currently in a regional healthcare foundation. When I'm not at Brass, chances are you can find me on a local trail, catching a game, or finding time to reconnect with family and friends. Looking forward to pouring you a beer or two!
